Summer Fun Trip!
Last month I was fortunate enough to attend the Romance Writers of America conference in San Antonio, Texas. I had a great time meeting with friends, going to workshops and book-giveaways.
One thrill was participating in the Literacy book signing event on Wednesday night. My first signing at RWA!
My lovely roommate, Karen Rock.
On Friday night, my cover came across the screen at the Harlequin party. So glad Magnolia Bride was a July release.
On Saturday, Harlequin featured the line I write for, Heartwarming. I was surprised to find a poster of my book on display. It even fit in suitcase so I could take it home!
I had a great time making new Heartwarming friends, visiting with my editor and seeing the sights of San Antonio.
Keep an eye out for my next Heartwarming release, Honeysuckle Bride, December 2014.

New Harlequin Heartwarming Release
Today I am celebrating the release of my newest Heartwarming book, Magnolia Bride.
Married for a day, in love for life
Nealy Grainger knew that returning to Cypress Pointe meant an inevitable encounter with her teenage crush, and momentary husband, Dane Peterson. She could handle it. She wasn't the wounded girl who'd left Cypress Pointe years ago, heartbroken and furious when Dane had annulled their marriage the day after they'd eloped.
Now one of L.A.'s most in-demand celebrity event planners, Nealy's only come back for a vacation and to help with her sister's wedding—not for a reunion with her long-lost love. But the more their paths cross, the more the sparks fly! Maybe their connection isn't over just yet...

I hoe you enjoy Nealy and Dane's journey to rekindling their first love. Drop me line and let me know what you think!

Let the Battle Begin!
When brainstorming for a book idea that became Rival Hearts, I came up with the
premise of a battle of the sexes story. I hadn’t written a book like this
before, so I was intrigued. Who doesn’t love a challenge?
"Randel’s rich characterizations of Ben and Molly and
the complexity of their
relationship will keep readers’ attention." -
Publisher's Weekly
Enter Molly and Ben, rival magazine editors competing
for the same promotion. Molly, editor of Quilter’s
Heart and Ben, editor of Outdoor
Adventures, will do anything for the job, including going along with their
boss’ idea to switch places. Molly must compete in an outdoor event, Ben must
help assemble a quilt.
Let the fun begin!
Through this story, I had fun with the fish-out-of-water
scenario. Molly, not an outdoorsy kind of girl, has to dig deep to complete her
assignment.
Ben, a very confident man, has to admit he may not
know how to do everything and ends up learning a new skill while quilting. The learning curve,
not to mention landing the promotion, is a big deal for both of them.
On top of all this, I added a romance. Who doesn’t
love watching two rivals realize they are perfect for each other? Adding a
romance to this story gave it another emotional layer I loved writing.
So, my question to you is, who would win in a battle
of the sexes? Do the guys have what it takes? The women? Do you prefer indoor
activities or being in the great outdoors? Drop me a line.
