When brainstorming for a book idea that became Rival Hearts, I came up with the
premise of a battle of the sexes story. I hadn’t written a book like this
before, so I was intrigued. Who doesn’t love a challenge?

for the same promotion. Molly, editor of Quilter’s
Heart and Ben, editor of Outdoor
Adventures, will do anything for the job, including going along with their
boss’ idea to switch places. Molly must compete in an outdoor event, Ben must
help assemble a quilt.
Let the fun begin!
Through this story, I had fun with the fish-out-of-water
scenario. Molly, not an outdoorsy kind of girl, has to dig deep to complete her
assignment.
Ben, a very confident man, has to admit he may not
know how to do everything and ends up learning a new skill while quilting. The learning curve,
not to mention landing the promotion, is a big deal for both of them.
On top of all this, I added a romance. Who doesn’t
love watching two rivals realize they are perfect for each other? Adding a
romance to this story gave it another emotional layer I loved writing.
So, my question to you is, who would win in a battle
